Frie's and travels

Have I ever mentioned the diner that advertises the combo meal with "hot dog's and frie's"? I've been meaning to take a picture of the diner's window for a couple years, and now I don't have to because Chicago Tribune columnist Eric Zorn has done so.


Also, I'm heading to Los Angeles tomorrow. I'll spend the weekend seeing friends and enjoying non-Novembery weather, and then report for duty first thing Monday morning at the Merv Griffin's Crosswords studio. Don't ask me how it went afterwards—I will be sworn to secrecy.
