Scrabble for Cheaters—NYC benefit

New Yorkers who enjoy Scrabble but wish it were kosher to cheat, your dreams are coming true! On Saturday, January 19, in Brooklyn, 826NYC (which helps kids develop their creative and expository writing skills) is holding a Scrabble for Cheaters benefit. The more money your team raises, the more you can cheat your way to glory. Buy a vowel? It'll cost you $50 of donations. Buy a Scrabbly Z, Q, or X? $250. Reject an opponent's perfectly valid word because it's occupying that triple-word score square you had your eye on? $450. Make up your own word? $500.
